Spectacular views of the blue sea
Island of Capri is located south of Naples, 3 km from the Sorrento pensinsula. This small island is about 6 km long and one-three km wide, covering an area of about 10 square km. Between Mount Tiberio to the east and Mount Solaro to the west is the small town of Capri; Anacapri is located to the west of Mount Solaro.
Villa Anacapri is located in Anacapri, halfway between the village and the famous Blue Grotto. Capri and the harbor are just 15 minutes by car or bus. The house is located on the road to the Blue Grotto, just 3 km (less than two miles) from the center of Anacapri (with restaurants, spa, tennis, shopping, taxis) and even less to the Blue Grotto beach.
Capri is the perfect base from which to explore the artistic, historic and natural treasures located on the other islands of the Bay of Naples (Ischia and Procida) and on the mainland (Sorrento, Pompei, Positano).
The villa has one of the most spectacular views of the Mediterranean and the Island of Ischia. It was built by Prince von Hessen-Kassel, a distinguished German painter, who dedicated the villa to his wife, a descendant of the Italian Royal Family.
The historic villa has been restored to create a harmonious blend between classic taste and modern comforts. Beautiful paintings and prints adorn the walls, filling each room with a sense of warmth, character and distinction.
Walled gardens are full of fragrant Mediterranean flowers. A large terrace has both shaded and sunny areas, several built in banquettes, and it boasts breathtaking views of the blue sea. The terrace is surrounded by olive trees and decorated with pots with citrus trees and other flowering plants. A circular pool is just off to the side of the house.
Motorbikes can be hired on the island, but not cars. You can bring a car to the island, but we recommend using taxis and bus to get around.
Some words about the history of Capri: Caesar Augustus was the first to discover the charm of Capri when he visited the island in 29 BC. He was followed by Tiberius who started the construction of 12 villas (27-37 AD). In 19th century the Island of Capri became one of the most sought-after destinations for European painters, poets, philosophers and aristocrats. Many of them decided to stay for a year or take their permanent residence in the island that evolved into an international cultural center (Thomas Mann, Pablo Neruda, Maxim Gorkij, Graham Greene, Axel Munthe, Norman Douglas, Friedrich Alfred Krupp, Augustus Kopisch, Curzio Malaparte and Cerio to name just a few...).

The villa is not just a holiday house, it is a home. The villa is lovingly furnished with antiques and art, and we loved to cook and bake in the fully equipped, charming kitchen. Delivery service from the supermarket is also available. In addition, the villa comes with a great pool, terraces for every position of the sun and a wonderful sea view. Dora's daily help and the discreet gardener made us feel at home, too. Do I recommend it? 100% and with love! Thank you Marta for a perfect family get away. You are a wonderful host!

Marta's place is absolutely amazing. The housekeeper, Dora, kept the home clean, beds made and fresh towels. The grounds keepers worked quickly and we could hardly tell they were there. It's a bonus to have the bus stop right outside the gate. We loved the views and how quiet the area was during our trip. Highly recommend this villa!

There were eight of us and each room had a bathroom. This is a special appreciated, the discreet presence of those who cleaned the pool and the beautiful garden of the house, plus Dora's daily presence made our vacation perfect. The bus stop right in front of the gate makes our excursions easier.

Lovely home with beautiful attention to detail will definitely stay again. Amazing restaurant within walking distance, blue grotto and rock swimming within walking distance. Make sure you have cash when you arrive on the island, you will need it for the taxi, bus and grocery deliveries. Getting a taxi to the accommodation from the ferry was a little difficult be prepared to wait especially if you have large luggage. Loved the bus stop out the front was very convenient.

Marta and the housekeeper Dora are wonderful hosts. I can’t say enough good things about them. Incredibly helpful and responsive. The house was beautiful, clean and well taken care of. The views are beyond beautiful! The house is well equipped and has all the amenities you require…. Pool, full kitchen, bus stop right outside the door. We will definitely book again when we get back to this beautiful island! Thank you again Marta and Dora!!!

Our stay in this property was amazing. This property is beautiful, and the pictures don't do it justice. The views and landscaping are amazing. The property is in a quiet part of the island, which we absolutely loved. There is a bus stop right outside the gate, which can get you around the island, which we used a few times. We preferred using taxis when we were on the island, which was very easy to do. If you stay here, walk, do yourself a favor, and make a reservation at Restaurant Il Riccio, which is less than a 10-minute walk. Amazing views. The owner Marta was great to work with and Dora met us at the Villa to help us get situated when we checked in. Our family hopes to come back and stay with them again.
